Business and Funding Model

La Posada de Ocú business model will include the following income streams:


• Funds allocated by the State. This budget allocation must be included in the annual General Budget of the Tourism Authority as custodian of this center, which will not be less than $15,000 per year and may increase according to the needs of the Posada de Ocú; funds may also be allocated in the budget of any autonomous and semi-autonomous entities of the Republic of Panamá. 


• Sums received as donations from public and private entities, as well bequests from individuals. These amounts will be tax deductible, according to article 697 of the Panamanian Tax Code.


• Income generated by La Posada for the provision of services, such as rental fees, event fees, museum entrance, etc.

​• National and/or international grants.  


• Proceeds of any other activity organized to obtain funds for La Posada de Ocú.

Financial Controls

• Funds will be administered by the terms approved by the Board of the Posada de Ocú and will be under its supervision.


• The Board of Trustees must submit an annual report to the National Comptrollers Office audited by a firm of authorized public accountants within three months following the end of the fiscal year.

 

• Funds provided by the government can only be used to cover the expenses of administration up to 10%. The rest of the funds must be used as investments for the maintenance, conservation and further restoration of La Posada de Ocú.

• All financial and Annual Performance Reports must be published annually in the Patronato´s web page.

​

The Board of Trustees will administer the building of La Posada de Ocú and its care, maintenance and improvement.
